Sounds like me ![]() I guess it's because we're scared of taking risks. I know a couple of aggresive players, they dare to raise almost any hand and know when to fold'em as well. Then again, it's not about the cards. In fact, the other day we were playing a 6 man SNG at my place (10 euro buy-in, 1 rebuy) when I got raised after hitting a J on the flop with my AJ. The guy raised my bet and I had few chips left, so I moved all in. He had paired his hand as well and based his move on a read. Bad read... but bad beat for me as well as he hit his set fours on the river. Cheers, Giorgio |

hi, ive not long joined the world of online poker, although i have been playing live poker many years. Im suffering from the reverse of many players heading into live games from online poker, that being i feal blind.. what i mean is, im suffering from a lack of tells from not being able to see my opposition. Yes there are tells such as betting paterns, speed of bet ect but i miss being able to see the body language. many people playing in live games for the first time think a dark pair of glasses will hide the tells, (lol, like a child putting their hands over their eyes and thinking you cant see them). My mentor tought me many years ago,to watch the chest... that being the breathing of all players at the table and more importantly taught me to mislead the table by giving false tells to the experianced players by learning to control my breathing to the extent of falsely giving tells... All sounds a bit technical but beliieve me, the best players at real tables use dark glasses to hide bluffs and your breathing to know when to act.. hope this helps.. regards Sean |

Thanks for the advice lol I'm not a live player I'm not used to being watched so even when I bet knowing I'm bluffing or knowing I'm 99 percent sure I've got the winning hand my heart rate an breathing become rapid. After sitting back an thinking the blinds do go up at a faster rate not time wise,an I realize I do have to be a bit more aggressive I just don't think I should become a maniac or maybe that will work, any how thanks again for the advice!! |

I know that feeling. When I play cash games or tournaments with a significant buy-in, I feel my blood pumping through my body. Most of the times I come home having quite a headache. I wonder if it makes you become older or die younger ![]() Quote:
