Did you qualify for the quiz? I don't think they made it easy - but then again, this is for the better so you'll actually learn something before making it.

Hi there! Thought I'd give poker strategy a try and did the quiz. Took your advice on reading the basic strategy articles first and that helped indeed! Passed the first time! Signed up at Mansion, so we'll see how fast I get the bonus. I did notice that they would take back the $50 if I hadn't accumulated a number of points within 90 days (can't remember how many, but MANY) and since I only play the lowest level AND I go on holiday in June I am sure I won't make that. So we'll see how that goes, will keep you posted!

Today I received my bonus already, so I thought to give it a go. I reread the articles on SSC and started playing according to the rules. I always tried to be a tight, agressive player but using the rules I notice I haven't been. According to the Bank roll management you can't start NL10 until you have 60 USD, so started off at NL04. What I like about SSC is that you have some strict guidelines that are easy to follow, which makes it easy to play multiple tables. However, it doesn't take into account table dynamics. For a starting player (to which I count myself as well) it does give some good guidelines to start with. After playing for about 1,5 hour on 4 tables I did not get many hands (at least that's how it felt), but the most of the ones I entered I won. Profit: 1.57 USD, although not much in money it equals 39BB, which is not bad I think? And some 35 points, so that goes pretty quickly as well. All in all: worth trying some more!
