Everest Freeroll last week. I WENT OUT OF THE FREEROLL LAST WEEK IN 28TH.....BOOOOHOOOOOOO I raise 4 x BB to 600 with 5c 5h in late position. Small blind calls and BB calls Flop comes 2d 10d 5s I raise to 300 and small blind folds and BB calls Turn comes Jd and I bet out again for 150 and BB re raises to $450. Im committed here so call knowing hes probably looking to hit a flush but want to see next card. I win if I pair the board or hit another 5. It dont come (as per usual for me!!!) and the river is the 8d. Ive put 1350 into this pot and Think he will go all in here to put me out and he does. I make a silly call and he shows his hand Kd 4d and his flush and I lose ! Any suggestions on how this hand could of been played differently?? I keep thinking I could of got away from the hand and folded after the turn. How many of you guys think that would of been the right play?? i feel i played too much like a novice but your thoughts may help me in the future. |

Hey Rob, Looks like you had bad luck. You raised 4 times the big blind and got a caller with Kd 4d, ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS when blinds are 150!!! And he's gonna do it again next time, because he got rewarded. Over the long turn, these people usually make you win big pots. So don't judge your play on one game and some idiot. Cheers, G PS: Rob, I am gonna reward some loyal posters of the forum with some cash, hence you and Sean, so you can expect me to send you guys a PM one of these days. |

thanks G, one thing tho, do you think the BB raise was too big? i hate playing in freerolls for this one reason, people havent got to use their own hard earned money to play so invariably they play real loose. My point is, if it was a $10 buy in would he have called my raise with that hand, i think not!!! As you say he will probably try thaat again because he was successful and hopefully get caught out next time.... Well going to bed now because i am on nights. SPeak soon!! ROb |

Honestly, no matter what level, you will always bump into real idiots who don't understand poker, but have the cash to back up. I have played $6/$3 cash games quite a lot and even see it there, but also have won significants amounts of cash because of these type of morons ![]() Cheers, Giorgio |
