I think it all comes down to personal preferences. Usually I am a very slow paced and careful player in Sit'n'Gos, trying to wait to see a pattern in some players or for someone to stick out his neck too far when I have a good hand and then act. Patience is the key for that and for me only Micro Stake Tables work for that matter since my bankroll isn't big enough to allow me to play conservatively on medium or high stakes.

However I am only a very small fish with limited experience (due to lack of time), so I am sure there will be more valuable information coming from some veteran player soon, once this forum really gets started (don't forget, today is still the first day ).

Because many people play many hands in the first fase of the SNG (when the blinds are low) u don't get much value out of playing almost any hand. Don't try to steal then but only play good hands and play them aggressive. Play tight when the blinds are low and you'll see that when you've reached the second fase, with medium blinds, 3 or 4 players will be eliminated already.
And now the blinds are getting higher, and you probably have got a tight image, so stealing becomes very valuable. You're also almost ITM so play tight to get there.
In the last fase it's push, call or fold. You're almost or already ITM and now you want to win! Depending on your stack and position you can play about any hand.

I used to be the same, play any 2 cards when the blinds are starting out, but now i try to only play Picture cards or suited connectors because if say the blinds are 25-50 and you have a starting 1000 chip stack you play 2 hands and theres a 100 gone, so now you only have 900 chips..

And it dont sound like a lot but if you see say 6 hands paying 50 BB theres 300 of your chips gone,

Also always try to NEVER go all in, (Only if you know for sure you have the absolute nuts!!) This is one bit of advice i got given by my mentor and its maybe the best bit of advice iv been given..

I copy that!

I have volume 1 and 2, Harrington on Hold'em.
Specially the 2nd is recommended if you are into SNG's.

Please have a look at the Poker Books page on PFF.
